The XRP Ledger (XRPL) network, which uses XRP as its native token, has crossed the 5 billion transactions mark for the first time since its inception.
The XRP Ledger has recorded a total of 5,016,297,013 transactions between June 2, 2012 and August 27, 2026, according to data from XRPSCAN.

As such, it took 14 years, 2 months, and 25 days for XRPL to cross this milestone. Over the years, XRP Ledger has evolved with the Web3 space backed by Ripple Labs, which is a major XRP holder.
For instance, Ripple Labs helped XRP gain legal clarity in the United States after the court ruled the token is not a security. Earlier this month, Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, said that XRP Ledger has a massive opportunity through Hidden Road, now part of Ripple Prime, and GTreasury, now known as Ripple Treasury, as Finbold reported.
