When asked how the various sports communities under the company’s umbrella will be integrated into the metaverse, Wilson explained EA’s strategy.
Wilson highlighted the size of EA’s player base, which reaches more than 700 million members, and the importance of EA Sports, emphasising its status as one of the most well-known and recognised sports brands. In a question and answer session, Wilson discussed the significant opportunities arising from the reciprocal relationships within the EA Sports community.
The CEO claims that gamers spend an average of ninety minutes engaged in meaningful conversations with their friends when playing EA games. They then exchange ideas, create content and watch experiences on different platforms. Wilson expressed confidence that he will harness the power of this community to realise EA’s key objectives both inside and outside of games.
Wilson did not make an official statement, but instead joked, „The best I can say is watch this space.” This cautiously optimistic approach stands in stark contrast to the more generous proposals of other Metaverse companies.
