One of the biggest concerns with cryptocurrency is what happens if the internet goes down. Typically, users would be unable to access their wallets or make transactions, which is an issue in regions where power shortages are common. However, the Sui blockchain is addressing this issue with a concept called “internet-less transactions.”
Moreover, the idea is to use alternative communication methods like mobile networks or even radio waves to send crypto transactions. Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs and one of Sui’s developers, has already completed research that allows transactions using radio waves, even underwater over long distances. They have also managed to compress transactions so small that they can be sent via a simple text message.
