The Group of Twenty (G20) has adopted the regulatory roadmap outlined in a joint paper by the International Monetary Fund and the Financial Stability Board regarding cryptocurrencies. The G20 called for swift implementation of policy frameworks, global outreach, coordination and cooperation, and data gap closure. The Synthesis Paper advocates for comprehensive regulatory supervisory oversight of digital assets rather than a blanket ban and has recommended cross-border cooperation and information sharing between regulators, guarantees of access to data held by companies, and the establishment of comprehensive frameworks for risk management within organizations.
