Fantom Foundation’s Nightmare: Google Chrome Flaw Leads to $657,000 Hack

The Fantom Foundation has suffered an attack perpetrated through Google Chrome.
This is one of the many crypto exploits recorded thus far this year in the industry.
Fantom Foundation is currently faced with a security breach that has cost it almost a million dollars in cryptocurrencies.
Blockchain security platform CertiK confirmed the news of the hack on the X app and it highlighted that both Ethereum (ETH) and Fantom (FTM) coins worth $187,000 and $470,000 respectively were drained from the wallets of the Fantom protocol. This brings the total loss on the platform to a whopping $657,000.
Fantom’s Core Assets Remain Safe
Users of the platform were the first to notice the discrepancies and immediately notified the Fantom team. Precisely, the breach was communicated internally within the Fantom Foundation community on Telegram.
