Bitstamp, the world’s longest-running crypto exchange, has been granted its Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license approval under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation by the Luxembourg-based regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). Coupled with the subsequent European Passport, the newly acquired CASP license will cover the operation of Bitstamp’s trading platform, execution of orders on behalf of clients, and custody of crypto-assets across the European Economic Area.
