The Algorand Foundation will match donations to Climate Ride with a $2.5 million annual commitment.
The Algorand blockchain has committed to climate change as it adopts the PoS protocol thereby claiming itself to be carbon-negative.
Algorand Foundation, the non-profit organization running the Algorand blockchain has decided to commit $15 million over the next five years to the environmental cause. The Algorand Foundation announced this initiative last week in partnership with Climate Ride.
The Algorand Foundation seeks to match $2.5 million funds raised annually by participants at Climate Ride. Furthermore, it will also contribute $500K annually to the expansion of the program. The Algorand Foundation said that it will contribute donations eligible for the match starting immediately.
