The UK government under Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced plans to introduce a mandatory digital ID system for all citizens and residents seeking employment. Addressing the audience at the Global Progress Action Summit, Starmer announced:

“You will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have a digital ID. It’s as simple as that.”
