Polygon Discord Hacked Despite Two-Factor Authentication
Polygon’s Discord channel was hacked, and the community members got worried. It is concerning that the attack occurred even with two-factor authentication set for the privileged accounts. Notably, there has been a rise in cases of hackers attacking cryptocurrency-related Discord channels.
The attackers used the hacked channel to share malicious links, deceiving many users. Therefore, the support channel received many inquiries from users impacted by the outage. It did not take long for the scammers to impersonate support agents, which made it even more difficult to contain the breach.
